Social Entrepreneurs
Social entrepreneurs start or develop a small/medium sized business that provides products, services and/or employment to a developing sector anywhere in the world. Social entrepreneurs join NEON to gain access to the NEON global business research network. This allows them to find university researchers in their target markets to perform the business research they need to advance their businesses.

An example of a social enterprise start up business is Power Mundo. They joined NEON to help launch their business as a clean technology distribution company that increases the accessibility of lifesaving household energy products for people in developing countries with an initial focus on Ghana, India and Peru. With minimal initial funding, they were not able to send a team to each of these countries so they looked for researchers in each country to assist them with market research. They accessed the NEON research network and then found a researcher at Ashesi University in Ghana to provide the market research they needed.
